General rules and code of conduct for the library.
Children's Library Services Policies
Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in the library. We are not responsible for your child.
The selection of reading materials by children under the age of sixteen is the responsibility of the parents.
Mountain View Public Library does not provide child care. Children under the age of twelve will be required to have an adult present with them in the library.
Circulation Policy-Printed and Audiovisual Materials
Materials such as books and magazines are loaned for a period of three weeks and may be renewed by contacting the library.
Reference materials are not to be taken from the library at any time. However, if a library has duplicates or older sets of reference books, these may be checked out at the discretion of the librarian.
Overdue Book Policy
Ten cents for each day the library is open will be charged for all overdue materials with a grace period of one day after initially due. Patrons will be required to pay for any materials not returned, lost, or seriously damaged. Use of library materials may be denied or restricted if not returned at the end of three months.
Animals in the Library
Animals, other than licensed guide/service animals, are not permitted in the library.
